Weekly sales of Japanese video game software have slowed down for another week, with late-2009's
New Super Mario Bros. Wii from Nintendo leading a top 10 that saw no new releases.
For the week ended April 11,
New Super Mario Bros. Wii sold 37,000 units to capture the top slot, according to
Media Create.
That's compared to just a couple weeks ago when Koei's anime-licensed brawler
Fist of the North Star: Warriors sold 415,000 units to top the charts in its debut week. Before that, the PlayStation 3-exclusive
Yakuza 4 from Sega
sold 384,000 units in its debut week.
The PS3 version of
Fist of the North Star: Spirits still managed to capture the number two slot in this most recent week, although with only 34,000 units sold.
The PS3 and PSP versions of Konami's
Pro Baseball Spirits 2010 held two spots, selling 65,000 units combined.
Former chart-topper
Yakuza 4 also made the top 10 with 18,000 units sold.
Two games fell off of the list from the previous week: Tecmo's PSP game
Dead or Alive: Paradise and the PS2 version of
Pro Baseball Spirits 2010.
