SilverBirch Revenues Rocket As Losses Deepen

Red Mile Entertainment and Lighthouse Interactive owner SilverBirch (Heroes Of The Pacific, N+) announced its Q3 financials, with revenues up by 498% to $1.96 million, but an increased net loss, after several company acquisitions.
Red Mile Entertainment and Lighthouse Interactive owner SilverBirch announced its Q3 financial results, with revenues up by 498 percent on the previous year. Sales for the third quarter stood at $1.96 million, with results for the full nine months standing at $4.58 million. This compares to just $462,000 at the same time last year -- before the company’s two most recent acquisitions. The Toronto based firm announced plans to acquire both Heroes Of The Pacific creator Red Mile Entertainment and Dutch PC publisher Lighthouse Interactive this year. However, despite the positive increase in revenues, net loss for the quarter increased from $345,668 a year ago to $681,342. The company also operates its own internal handheld and mobile phone developer SilverBirch Studios, which worked on recently released DS and PSP versions of cult hit N+. SilverBirch is also working with G4box and developer Ymir Entertainment to bring free-to-play PC massively multiplayer online game Metin 2 to North America. "I am very pleased with our results this quarter," said Derek van der Plaat, president and CEO of SilverBirch. "With our acquisition of Lighthouse, proposed acquisition of Red Mile and the pending launch of CrossFire, the company anticipates continuing to generate significant revenue gains."
