Officials from Vivendi Games' subsidiary Sierra Entertainment have announced plans to release Crash of the Titans, the latest title in the company's long running Crash Bandicoot franchise, this fall for multiple platforms, including the Xbox 360 and Wii. The game, which is being developed by Sierra's internal development studio Radical Entertainment, is also being created for the PlayStation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, and mobile phones. The action game will once again pit the orange marsupial against Neo and Nina Cortex as players will be allowed to "hijack" the minds enemies in order to control them against other opponents. On top of this, the game will also introduce a variety of new gameplay elements to the series, including an “acrobatic fighting system” wherein players will be able to string together combinations of attacks, combos, and counters. The upcoming title will also feature co-op support, allowing a second player to join the game at any time to play as “Carbon-Crash.” The character Crash was originally created by developer Naughty Dog, and made his North American debut in 1996 with the aptly named Crash Bandicoot for the PlayStation. The franchise has since went on to be handled by a variety of different development studios, and has spawned several sequels and spin off releases, including Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Crash Team Racing, and the more recently released Crash Boom Bang! for the Nintendo DS.
