Sega, Sony Vet Stolar Leaves Google Game Post

Bernie Stolar, a noted former Sony, Sega and in-game advertising executive, has left his post as Google's "games industry evangelist" to become CEO of mobile search firm GetFugu.
Bernie Stolar, a former executive with Sony and Sega, has left his post as Google's "games industry evangelist" to become CEO of mobile search firm GetFugu. Stolar became a Google executive when in-game advertising firm Adscape Media, at which he served as a director, was acquired by Google. Since then, Google has launched a relatively low-profile web-based game advertising solution. A game industry veteran for decades, Stolar was president of Sony Computer Entertainment America when PlayStation launched, and was president of Sega of America during the Dreamcast's Japanese launch. Earlier, he worked at Atari. In an announcement of the move, GetFugu makes no mention of any plans on the company's part to expand its mobile developments to games. Notably, however, the overall majority of the press release focuses heavily on Stolar's video game experience -- until the closing PR quote. "GetFugu has developed most unique mobile technology that I have seen to date. It has already established a new standard for mobile search," said the new CEO in a statement. "This gives them the ability to define the mobile digital revolution and leverage their technology in many different sectors. "I am excited about what we can do together. I see this as the first chapter in a long-running and successful partnership with GetFugu."
