As
reported earlier in the year the merger of Sammy and Sega has lead to the re-integration of Sega’s various development subsidiaries. Predictably this has led to some casualties with the Hitmaker (
Crazy Taxi and
Virtua Tennis) and Amusement Vision (
Super Monkey Ball and
F-Zero GX) brands appearing to be under threat.
These two studios are to close their websites from 1st July, with other Sega studios removing non-essential content from their sites such as diaries and personal columns.
It is not clear whether the Hitmaker and Amusement Vision names will be phased out completely, with a final decision perhaps not being made until the merger is completed in October of this year.
