The U.S. division of major Japanese game publisher Sega has announced a new partnership with San Francisco-based Planet Moon Studios (Armed & Dangerous, Infected
) to create a new game for the PSP based on an undisclosed existing Sega franchise.
The new partnership continues Sega's recent expansion of its strategy to revisit its popular classic franchises, by developing new content and gameplay on current and next-gen platforms, as it pushes back toward greater console game biz prominence.
Previously, Sega announced a partnership
with Totally Games on an upcoming Sega franchise that has not been officially announced, but it believed to be Alien Syndrome
. The company is also preparing the 2007 release of Golden Axe
, developed by the Sega-owned development studio Secret Level.
