Rikiya Nakagawa has resigned from his position as president of WOW – Sega’s main arcade development subsidiary. Although it has been confirmed that Nakagawa’s replacement will be Kazunori Tsukamoto (who has worked on titles such as The House of The Dead and Super GT), Sega company representatives have failed to comment on whether the move is a result of Sammy recently becoming the majority shareholder in the company. It seems reasonable to speculate though that recent comments by Sammy management, demanding a change in focus for the company towards arcade development on Sammy’s budget Atomiswave platform, are behind the resignation.
