Officials from Sega have announced the appointment of former Electronic Arts executive Darrin Stubbington as the vice president of production for Sega's San Francisco-based studio Secret Level.
In his new position, Stubbington will help to oversee the 100-person studio, which
was acquired by Sega in April 2006, as Secret Level continues work on forthcoming next-gen projects such as
Golden Axe and
Iron Man.
According to a statement, the new appointment “underscores Sega's commitment to creating Western-specific content by growing talented internal teams to build quality games for current and next-generation hardware platforms.”
A 20-year industry veteran, the executive has worked for such companies as Iguana Entertainment (
Turok), Acclaim, and Midway, as well as Electronic Arts, where he helped steer the staff responsible for the
NCAA Football franchise.
"Darrin’s long list of accomplishments includes building both critically-acclaimed title franchises and respected development studios from the ground up,” said Simon Jeffery, president of SEGA of America and head of product development for America and Europe . “We knew he’d be perfect for the job of leading our production efforts at Secret Level.”
