Officials from Sega have announced the appointment of former Electronic Arts executive Darrin Stubbington as the vice president of production for Sega's San Francisco-based studio Secret Level. In his new position, Stubbington will help to oversee the 100-person studio, which was acquired by Sega in April 2006, as Secret Level continues work on forthcoming next-gen projects such as Golden Axe and Iron Man. According to a statement, the new appointment “underscores Sega's commitment to creating Western-specific content by growing talented internal teams to build quality games for current and next-generation hardware platforms.” A 20-year industry veteran, the executive has worked for such companies as Iguana Entertainment (Turok), Acclaim, and Midway, as well as Electronic Arts, where he helped steer the staff responsible for the NCAA Football franchise. "Darrin’s long list of accomplishments includes building both critically-acclaimed title franchises and respected development studios from the ground up,” said Simon Jeffery, president of SEGA of America and head of product development for America and Europe . “We knew he’d be perfect for the job of leading our production efforts at Secret Level.”
