Hard disk maker Seagate Technology has won the contract to supply hard drives for Microsoft's Xbox. The contract has Seagate supplying the Xbox drives from June 2001 through mid-year 2003. "This is an opportunity for volume growth in disc drive shipments as the Xbox attracts a large portion of this audience," said Seagate's Brian Dexheimer.
