Representatives from British publisher SCi have announced a record turnover for the second year running, with results for the year ended September 30 seeing a turnover of £28.5 million ($49.4m) – up 61% on the previous year. Pre tax profits were also up from £2.2 million ($3.8m) to £3.5 million ($6.1m) in 2003, 40% above original forecasts. The majority of the company’s success has been due to the continued popularity of the Conflict: Desert Storm series, released by Take-Two in the US. The company purchased the series’ developer Pivotal Games earlier in the year, from the collapsed Kaboom Studios group. In related news the company also picked up the publishing rights to Toby Gard’s (the co-creator of Tomb Raider) long delayed Galleon, which is now to be an Xbox-only title.
