The Tech Museum of Innovation, located in downtown San Jose, California, will present an open panel and discussion centered around ethics and video games on Tuesday, November 29. The panel, titled Video Gaming: Playing with Ethics, is being held in partnership with Santa Clara University, and takes place in conjunction with Game On!, the Barbican Museum-developed interactive exhibit focusing on video game history, design and culture, on display through January 2 of next year. Panelists include California Assemblyman Leland Yee, a strong voice in the recent push to prevent the sale of adult-oriented games to minors, Mike Antonucci, Video Game Writer for the San Jose Mercury News, and Kristin Asleson McDonnel, CEO of LimeLife, a mobile developer focused on the young female demographic. Topics will inevitably include violence and the "Hot Coffee" debate, but will also focus on gender issues and addiction. The panel is free for Santa Clara students, with a $5 charge for Tech Museum members and $10 for general admission. More details can be found on The Tech's web site.
