This week's charts, with data taken from October 22nd, 2009, find
Wii Sports Resort taking the lead in U.S. multiplatform sales, while
Forza Motorsport 3 heads the week's results in the UK and Japan.
Data for "Saling The World" comes courtesy of the public sales information on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.co.jp, with sales split out for each platform and territory, and pre-orders disregarded. This results in a true sense of what games are selling worldwide on the real-time updated service, as follows:
Nintendo Wii
North America: 1. Wii Sports Resort -- 2 Wii MotionPlus Bundle (Nintendo), 2. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo), 3. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo), 4. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo), 5. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo).
Japan: 1. Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo), 2. Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board (Nintendo), 3. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo), 4. Okami -- Special Edition (Capcom), 5. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo).

Nintendo's recently released Wii Sports Resort bundle that includes two Wii MotionPlus peripherals tops the Wii charts in North America this week, and finishes as the region's biggest software seller across all platforms.
The standalone Wii Fit Plus and its Balance Board-bundled special edition take second and third place in domestic sales, while Mario Kart Wii and the regular version of Wii Sports Resort finish at fourth and fifth.
Xbox 360
North America: 1. Borderlands (2K Games), 2. Halo 3: ODST (Microsoft), 3. FIFA Soccer 10 (EA Sports), 4. Brutal Legend (EA Games), 5. Madden NFL 10 (EA Sports).
Japan: 1. Forza Motorsport 3 -- Limited Edition (Microsoft), 2. Steins;Gate -- Limited Edition (5pb), 3. Steins;Gate (5pb), 4. Forza Motorsport 3 (Microsoft), 5. FIFA World Class Soccer 10 (EA Sports).

Gearbox Software's open-world shooter Borderlands premieres as this week's top Xbox 360 title in North America, knocking last week's sales champion Halo 3: ODST to second place.
FIFA Soccer 10 also makes an impressive U.S. debut this week, while Forza Motorsport 3 is off to a strong sales chart in the UK and Japan.

Uncharted 2 leads the U.S. PlayStation 3 chart for the second week running, and spurs newfound interest in the original Uncharted game, which finishes third in today's sales results at Amazon.
Borderlands makes less of an impact on the PlayStation 3 than the Xbox 360 this week, meanwhile, landing at fifth place in its debut week. FIFA Soccer 10 fares better at second place, as Demon's Souls drops to fourth.

WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2010 and FIFA Soccer 10 top the domestic PS2 charts in their debut week, pushing last week's sales leader Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection to third place.
Kingdom Hearts and its sequel continue to see strong sales in the weeks following the release of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days on the Nintendo DS, while in Japan, Slotter Up Mania 11: 2027 vs 2027 II steals the top spot from Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress + Premium Best.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story continues to lead overall sales numbers, as Scribblenauts lags behind Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box at fourth place.
In Japan, Pocket Monsters: Soul Silver and Heart Gold again head sales for the platform, as Dragon Quest IX returns after being knocked out of the top five last week by Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey.

Elsewhere, Bandai's Macross Ultimate Frontier sees another successful week in Japan, while Gran Turismo tops sales in the UK.
