Hase's career at Microsoft included work on the team that helped to create both the Xbox and Media Center PC software. Regarding the reason for his departure, the 47-year-old noted that it was simply time to try new things, but that he still holds Microsoft in high regard. "I still love the company. As a launching point for taking on new challenges, there is no better place currently to be." - Codemasters Online Gaming (COG) announced a new partnership with payment solution partner Click&Buy to provide more user friendly payment options for the company’s MMO players throughout North America and Europe. The new deal makes available such options as Direct Debit, ELV, and Online Bank Transfers, as opposed to accounts being available exclusively to credit card holders. COG’s current MMO PC title RF Online, as well the upcoming title ArchLord, will utilize the system. - MTV2 announced "All That Rocks," a user-generated television special designed to recognize viewers who are obsessed with technology and pop culture. Hosted by Bam Margera, "All That Rocks" is set to air on MTV2 on Sunday, July 30th at 9 PM ET/PT. The show will feature up and coming musical artists, and will give viewers and attendees a chance to vote for nominees from a number of entertainment and technology categories, including a handful of next-generation video game titles that serve as nominees for “Insane New Game.” Featured titles include Resistance: Fall of Man for the PlayStation 3, Gears of War for the Xbox 360, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. The PSP itself is also nominated alongside the Video iPod and Blackberry 8700c for “Most Critical Hardware.” - The latest updates on Gamasutra sister weblog GameSetWatch include news of a new website for Massive Magazine, which is dedicated to the world of MMOs, the latest issue of online webzine The Escapist (featuring girl power), and Dr. Who on UMD. - Also updated today: Serious Games Source news on speakers and topics added to the upcoming Games for Change conference and the Virtual Heroes CEO to deliver a keynote address at the DGXPO conference, plus Gamasutra product news on Rocksteady and Perforce teaming up for Urban Chaos, plus the latest Gamasutra job postings, featuring openings from Crystal Dynamics, Doppelganger, Factor 5, Pixar Animation Studios, Rainbow Studios, THQ KAOS, Turbine, and Vivendi Games.
