Today's round-up includes NHL lockout-related game delays, a new twist for an old green friend, and a triple shot of Halo that's easy on the wallet. - The National Hockey League's new rules and team roster shakeups coming at the tail end of a lockout in the league have caused turmoil in game development studios creating NHL-licensed hockey games. Regulation changes such as restrictions on goalie movements and the addition of tie-breaking shootouts had to be quickly implemented into the games, and the new NHL logo also caused problems. "The logos are everywhere in the game. They're on the uniforms, on the ice, on the boards, on the jumbotron, so it was a lot of work to get that done," said SCEA producer David Perkinson. Most of the games were already near completion when the changes were announced, resulting in a scramble to make changes. "This was unprecedented. I've never worked on a game where something like this happened," said Perkinson. - Konami Digital Entertainment has teamed with InfoSpace to offer a variant on its classic Frogger game: Frogger for Prizes. The mobile phone title will run on the same platform many other InfoSpace "For Prizes" games are hosted on, which allows players to treat the title as a skill game with a leaderboard and daily awards. Both daily and weekly tournaments are planned. "We are very excited about working with Konami to create innovative marketing programs," said InfoSpace general manager Andy Riedel. "Frogger for Prizes players are in for a real treat." - Microsoft has announced the Halo Triple Pack, a collection of all the Halo releases to date for $59.99. The package contains 2001's Halo: Combat Evolved, as well as the more recent Halo 2 and the Halo 2 Multiplayer Map Pack. The three games have sold a combined 13.8 million units to date, a figure which Microsoft hopes to increase with the bundle.
