Today's round-up includes news on a new partnership to help internationalize 'virtual world' Second Life, reports from Japan discussing the schedule for PlayStation 3 development, and a special Halloween bonus for Nintendogs players, as well as the latest product news and Gamasutra job postings. - Alchemic Dream, a localization and support company based in Canada, announced a partnership with Second Life developer Linden Labs. Alchemic Dream will contribute to the upcoming international version of virtual world, by localizing its contents into multiple languages. "Because Second Life hosts an international community, we find Alchemic Dreams’ multilingual support invaluable," said Robin Harper of Linden Labs. "I’m pleased we were able to find a company that not only met our service requirements but is a good personality match as well.” - Consumer site Game Science has translated a report in Japanese economic magazine Weekly Diamond claiming that some Japanese PlayStation 3 developers are reportedly concerned with the next-gen console's continuing genesis. Some Japanese development teams have apparently only just begun receiving final PS3 development tools this month, and still do not know Sony's plans for the system launch as regards date or price, according to Weekly Diamond. "We are unlikely to see games exhibiting a level only PS3 can achieve until the end of 2007," said Enterbrain president Hirokazu Hamamura. - Nintendo and GameStop have partnered to offer special Halloween bonuses to Nintendogs players who stop by a GameStop retail store from October 28th to October 30th. Players will be able to download special star-shaped sunglasses to outfit their virtual hounds, and hear a voice greeting from Haylie Duff, who played Summer Wheatly in the film Napoleon Dynamite. The two companies will also jointly donate $50,000 to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. - Also updated today: product news including Luxology's release of the modo 103 3D modeler, NaturalMotion's shipping of endorphin 2.5, and today's Gamasutra job postings, including positions from Autodesk, Black Ops Entertainment, Blue Fang Games, Edge of Reality, Gas Powered Games, Mad Doc Software, NCSoft, Pandemic Studios, Pseudo Interactive, and Ternary Software.
