Today's round-up prominently includes the number '360', from Midway and BioWare's confirmation of Xbox 360 development, through technical details on Electronic Arts' impressive 360 degree video display at last week's E3 Expo, as well as information on the latest Gamasutra job postings. - In separate statements to consumer web site GameSpot, both an un-named Midway executive and BioWare co-CEOs Dr. Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk confirmed significant support for Microsoft's next-gen platform - neither had previously made any announcement."We have no less than seven Xbox 360 games currently in development in our internal studios targeted for release in 2006-8", revealed the Midway spokesperson, helping to counter rumblings that Midway would not be supporting the 360 heavily. In turn, the venerable Dr. Greg commented: "We're working on two [Xbox] 360 titles right now." Specific titles and launch dates are yet to be revealed. - Arnson Communications and Zoic Studios have released information on their efforts in manipulating and construcring some of the content (trailers for FIFA Soccer and The Godfather for the impressive 3.5-foot high x 188-foot long circular screen that was the centerpiece of Electronic Arts' E3 Expo booth for this year. According to the companies, over 300,000 frames of HD visual material were involved in just these trailers, and the job involved the manipulation of over three terabytes of data per day in the period leading up to the show, using tools such as flame, Maya, After Effects and Mental Ray. - Also updated today: the latest job postings on Gamasutra, including new positions from Activision/Infinity Ward, Activision/Vicarious Visions, Hi-Rez Studios, THQ Studio Australia, and Torpex Games. [Please note that Gamasutra will not be updating on Monday, June 30th, due to the public holiday. Full news and feature updates, including a return for Question Of The Week, will recommence on Tuesday, May 31st.]
