Today's round-up includes news of Datel's latest canine-themed DS cheat device, Kuma Reality Games' new look into Mess-opotamia, and Strange Company's sneak peek at its long-awaited machinima movie, as well as today's product news and Gamasutra job postings. - Datel has announced Dog Trainer for Nintendo DS, a cheat device specifically for Nintendo's hit title Nintendogs. The combination software/peripheral plugs into the DS with the user's Nintendogs cart fitting inside of it, to allow the user to unlock any of the game's dogs, items, locations, or money. In addition to the cheats for Nintendogs, the device also has built-in codes for Super Mario 64 DS, which unlock all of that game's characters and stars. Dog Trainer has no set release date yet, but Datel's site indicates that it will be released shortly. - Kuma Reality Games has announced the latest episode in its long-running Kuma\War, a PC downloadable military action title which takes its content from current events. The next two missions, numbered 59 and 60, cover recent events concerning former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. Mission 59, "The Crime of Dujayl," re-enacts the event for which Hussein is currently undergoing trial in Iraq, while mission 60 places the player in the role of an Army soldier to hunt down Hussein's spider hole in a recreation of his 2003 capture. "The break in Saddam’s trial gives people around the world time to educate themselves," said Kuma Reality Games CEO Keith Halper. "We’re extremely pleased to be able to help and so we’re offering these episodes for free to users everywhere." - Strange Company, a machinima production company, has released the trailer for BloodSpell, its first feature-length video. The movie, made using BioWare's Neverwinter Nights, may be "the largest Machinima film" ever made, according to the creators. BloodSpell will be released for free under a Creative Commons license and distributed through popular peer-to-peer service BitTorrent; though the entire work itself may be lengthy, the film will be released in weekly 3-5 minute episodes until it's completed. Also updated today: product news including Autodesk's announcement of its 3ds Max Developer Summit, as well as the latest Gamasutra job postings from companies including Ageia, Electronic Arts Tiburon, IGN Entertainment, Jailed Games, KingsIsle Entertainment, Pyro Studios, Red Storm Entertainment, Rockstar San Diego, Sony Computer Entertainment America, and THQ.
