Today's Gamasutra round-up includes information on a Call Of Cthulhu title looking for a new publisher, D3 Publisher of America's new PSP title announcement, and BioWare's contribution to a children's charity, as well as the latest product news and Gamasutra job postings. - UK-based Headfirst Productions, one development studio affected by the recent demise of publisher Hip Interactive, has announced that it is working with interim receiver Ernst & Young to seek another publisher for Call of Cthulhu: Destiny's End. The game is a third-person action game based on H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos, and is a counterpart to the recently-completed Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, a first-person horror title that's due out later this month for Xbox. The game is intended to be the first of a series of third-person games from Headfirst set in the Lovecraft mythos. - D3 Publisher of America has announced its first PSP game, PQ: Practical Intelligence Quotient. The title is a 3D puzzle game that challenges players to solve the puzzles as quickly as possible, with the times then being uploaded to a global ranking board with the PSP's wi-fi Internet capabilities, somewhat reminiscent of the Nintendo DS' current hit Brain Trainer series of games. "PQ is perfect for PSP system as it offers pick-and-play ease without a significant time commitment," said D3P America COO Yoji Takenaka, who was recently interviewed at Gamasutra. "Our plan is to bring high quality, innovative titles to the PSP system to establish a name for D3PA among both retailers and consumers." - BioWare Corp, creators of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire, participated in the 2005 Miracle Builders Breakfast, a charity event raising funds for new equipment in the Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton. With BioWare's contribution, the hospital successfully achieved its goal of raising $500,000 in an hour, and was able to purchase an Intra-Operative MRI scanner. "BioWare has been involved with the Stollery Hospital for a number of years, and it was an honor for us to continue that support and host the breakfast fundraiser," said BioWare joint CEO Dr. Greg Zeschuk. "We are extremely happy to support children's health care at such a great event." - Also updated today: product news including the release of the Turtle 2 raytracer for Maya, Ascaron's use of Kynapse AI in Sacred 2, as well as today's Gamasutra job postings, including freshly posted positions from Activision Value, Blizzard Entertainment, Factor 5, Gameloft, GameStaffing Employment Services, Mad Doc Software, Midway Games, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Stormfront Studios, Touchdown Entertainment, Visual Concepts, Wayforward Technologies , and Wolfpack Studios.
