Today's round-up includes news of NinjaBee's latest Xbox Live Arcade offering, an apparent misunderstanding regarding the price of the PlayStation 3, and the Guild Wars Factions World Championship, as well as the latest posts from GameSetWatch, product news and Gamasutra job postings. - With Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 gaining steam, developer NinjaBee has released their second title for their online service. Following up on their freshman effort, Outpost Kaloki X, the company has released a new 3D adventure and puzzle game called Cloning Clyde. The game offers players a single player campaign, as well as two and four player gameplay on a single console. Cloning Clyde also supports up to eight players over Xbox Live, and features 40 co-op levels, and 6 versus arenas. - A report on Gamesindustry.biz clarifies statements reported yesterday by Sony Computer Entertainment French lead Georges Fornay regarding the price of Sony's anticipated PlayStation 3 console. The comments were made on French radio station Europe 1, and indicated that the PlayStation 3 will be available for “around €500 ($613), in the range of €499 to 599 ($612 to 734)”. According to the clarifying report, Fornay's statements were "a mistranslation or misunderstanding of the discussion, which was actually focused on the relative value of PS3 as a Bluray Disc player." With the price of stand alone Bluray Disc Players expected to demand between €600 to 800 ($733-977), the quoted price was meant to position the next-generation game console as being affordable by comparison. - Developer ArenaNet, along with NCsoft today announced that the Guild Wars Factions World Championship will take place at the GC Game Convention in Leipzig, Germany August 24 - 27, 2006. The event is a culmination of the Guild Wars Factions Championship Series, which is comprised of three seasons of competitive gameplay taking place between March 7 and June 26, 2006. The series is open to all Guild Wars players, and at the end of each season, the top 16 guilds on the Guild Wars Ladder will compete in post-season playoffs for Guild Wars Factions Championship Points. For more information regarding the tournament, visit the Guild Wars Factions World Championship Series website. - The latest updates on Gamasutra sister weblog GameSetWatch include a look at how Matt Sakey feels Psychonauts' failure at retail identifies a problem with gamers in general, and an attachment for your mobile phone to make it more suitable for gaming. - Also updated today: product news, featuring GameShadow and Eidos teaming up for PC releases this spring, as well as the latest Gamasutra job postings, featuring openings from Airtight Games, Backbone Entertainment, High Moon, LucasArts, University of California-IUCRP, and WagerWorks.
