Officials from Rockstar Games have announced that previous Xbox 360 exclusive Rockstar Games presents Table Tennis will be released for the Wii this autumn. The new version of the game will be developed by Rockstar Leeds, previously responsible for PSP versions of popular Rockstar franchises such as Grand Theft Auto, Midnight Club and The Warriors. Original developers Rockstar San Diego will apparently work “in collaboration” with the Leeds, England team. The original Xbox 360 game was released to significant critical acclaim in May 2006, aided by a mid-budget price tag. It was also notable as the first game to use the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (R.A.G.E.) which has subsequently been adapted for the forthcoming Grand Theft Auto IV. No screenshots or further details of the Wii version of the game have yet been released. "Ever since we released Table Tennis, fans have been asking us to create a Wii version," said Rockstar founder and executive producer Sam Houser. "By bringing Table Tennis to the Wii and utilizing the motion-sensitive Wii Remote, a new audience can now experience a game that is beautifully designed and impossible to put down."
