Music Video Games, the recently founded casual portal focusing on creating "proprietary music beat matching games" has announced its first partnership with Warner Music division Rhino Entertainment, who will both license its own music for the site as well as advise the site on future artists. No details on the actual games the site will produce have yet been released, as the company says its "mechanics are so different from conventional beat-matching games" that it is "pursuing patents for its novel approach and process." The company was founded by former Realtime Associates (Intellivision Lives!) president David Warhol and Vincent Bitetti, former CEO of TDK Mediaactive before it was sold to Take-Two in 2004. Former Warner Bros. Records business and legal affairs SVP Mark Goldstein and former THQ Wireless president Tim Walsh also serve as strategic advisors. Rhino represents a number of classic rock and modern artists including the Grateful Dead, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, The Doors, Chicago, Black Sabbath, John Coltrane, Yes, Alice Cooper, Linda Ronstadt, The Ramones, The Monkees, Carly Simon, Curtis Mayfield, and more. Said Rhino senior marketing VP Mark Pinkus, "Rhino has had excellent success finding new and interesting opportunities for its artists and its catalog across a number of innovative delivery platforms, especially in the rapidly growing video game market. We look forward to working with David and Vincent and the entire MvG team in developing a first-rate music experience as part of MVG's high quality video games."
