Retailers Request More Gamecubes for Launch Week

U.S. retailers are asking for increased shipments of Nintendo’s Gamecube video game console.
Major retail chains such as Wal-Mart are hoping to offset an expected shortfall in supply of Microsoft’s Xbox, which now debuts the same week. Nintendo plans to ship at least 700,000 units for Gamecube’s November 18 launch in the U.S.
