Media and technology research firm Interpret takes a step toward stronger presence in gaming and digital media research with two high-profile hires, Parks Associates veteran Michael Cai and former Jupiter Research exec Michael Gartenberg.
Cai takes the role of VP of video games, where he'll play a lead role in the firm's digital media and gaming research. A ten-year veteran of digital media analysis, he was formerly director of Digital Media and Gaming at Parks Associates, where he authored more than 20 research reports on the industry.
He now reports directly to Interpret's Grant Johnson -- a co-founder who was himself promoted to the role of president with today's announcements -- and the two will collaborate on growing Interpret's video game sector.
"We are thrilled to add someone of Michael Cai’s caliber to our team," says co-founder and CEO Michael Dowling. "With the addition of Michael, we now have exceptionally strong practice leaders in place to provide unparalleled services to companies across the media landscape including the video game, mobile, digital entertainment and theatrical/home entertainment industries."
Interpret also recently added analyst Michael Gartenberg, formerly VP of Jupiter Research, as its vice president of Strategy and Analysis. He will report directly to Dowling, and take responsibility for expanding the firm's custom and syndicated research for consumer technology clients, working with companies in mobile, home entertainment, video games and other related arenas.
"Michael is a tremendous asset to Interpret, bringing a unique voice and breadth of insight to help clients digest and optimize emergent consumer technology platforms," says Dowling.
