According to regulatory filings, Gamebryo engine company Emergent has added another $1.9 million in funding to a recent round now totaling $14.4 million, as it continues to expand operations. The just-closed new funding, as reported by SoCalTech.com, means that Emergent has raised $14,389,604 since the commencement of this funding round, which kicked off in December 2008. Disclosed funders thus far this round for the Southern California-headquartered company include Hopewell Ventures, Worldview Technology Partners, Jerusalem Venture Partners, Walker Ventures, and Adena Ventures. Emergent's engine technology, most recently licensed company-wide by THQ and by a set of companies including Sidhe and Straylight Studios, is used in games such as Fallout 3, Oblivion and Wizard101. The firm also recently signed a strategic partnership deal with Big Red Button Entertainment, the studio founded by Naughty Dog veterans Bob Rafei and Dan Arey, with prototypes and technology advice part of the mutual deal. Emergent has raised multiple rounds of capital previous to this current one, with a Series D funding of $12 million in July 2007 a major previous example.
