Gamasutra's latest exclusively compiled worldwide game release list examines a week that brings Super Smash Bros. Brawl Stateside, while Europe gets No More Heroes and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Japan grabs Contra 4.
Gamasutra's regular round-up of worldwide video game releases, "Release This!", takes a look at every game title we know to be shipping to stores this week, in an exclusively compiled list. This week marks the awaited U.S. release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which will debut alongside multiplatform offerings like Condemned 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. Elsewhere, Europe gets No More Heroes and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, while Japan receives Baroque for Wii and Winning Post 7 Maximum 2008. Super Smash Bros. Brawl started off this release week with an early Sunday debut, and is likely to finish as the week's top seller across all platforms. Brawl has remained one of the Wii's most anticipated releases since the console's initial launch, and demand has spiked in the final weeks leading up to its release. On other platforms, Konami's soccer sim Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is set to make its North American debut, having previously enjoyed success upon its UK release late last year. On the Nintendo DS, the cult shooter Nanostray receives a sequel, and Square Enix expands the GameCube-born Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles with Ring of Fates. Games Released in Europe:

The bulk of this week's UK release activity centers around Nintendo platforms. Localizations of Nintendo's Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and the Grasshopper Manufacture-developed No More Heroes stand out among a selection of budget releases on the Nintendo Wii, while the DS gets a large quantity of license-based fare alongside Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker and Magic Made Fun (aka Master of Illusion). UK-exclusive debuts and localizations are scarce this week, aside from what looks to be a Europe-only Wii port of Harvest Moon: Magical Melody. Originally released in other regions for the Nintendo GameCube, this new port of Magical Melody has not yet been announced for release elsewhere in the world. Games Released in Japan:

A Wii port of Sting's Sega Saturn RPG Baroque and the multiplatform release of Koei's yearly horse racing simulation series Winning Post 7 Maximum 2008 serve as the highlights of this week's Japanese console offerings. The Nintendo DS receives a more robust lineup, including titles like Namco's awaited dating sim Duel Love: Koisuru Otome wa Shouri no Joshin and Konami's Contra: Dual Spirits (Contra 4). Next week will bring the release of Bangai-O Spirits, Time Hollow, and Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword for the Nintendo DS, as the PSP receives Tales of Rebirth and Mugen Kairou (Echochrome).
