Officials from new London, Ontario-based developer RedJade announced that the studio has opened, and is focused on supplying art creation services for titles developed for the PC, as well as current and next-generation consoles.
RedJade was formed by former employees of CE Digital Illusions Canada (
Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII,
Battlefield 2: Special Forces ), which
closed its doors following Electronic Arts'
recent acquisition of Swedish-headquartered Digital Illusions CE.
RedJade is being headed by founder and CEO, Fredrik Liliegren, an 18 year veteran of the video game industry, having previously held position of CEO of Digital Illusions CE AB. Liliegren also worked as the Studio Manager of CE Digital Illusions Canada, as well as the CEO and CCO of the previous, defunct incarnation of RedJade, which was founded back in 2000 in California.
