According to the CESA trade organization behind the fourteenth annual Tokyo Game Show, held from September 24th-26th at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Tokyo, Japan, this latest show was the most successful in the organization's history.
Over the entire three days of the show, 160,096 attendees visited TGS, compared to 150,089 for 2003's show. This reasonably impressive total split up as follows - 32,867 (Friday), 64,164 (Saturday), and 63,065 (Sunday) attendees for TGS 2004, compared to 32,176 (Friday), 53,935 (Saturday), and 63,978 (Sunday) attendees for TGS 2003.
CESA noted that there were a total of 117 worldwide exhibitors, also a record. Next year's Tokyo Game Show will be held from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th September, 2005, and Gamasutra will be running a wrap-up feature from this year's TGS in the near future.
