Realviz, an image processing software developer, has announced the release of version 5.1 of Stitcher, its multi-award-winning panorama software. With version 5.1, Stitcher is now available in German, in addition to English and French. The Realviz team will be demonstrating Stitcher 5.1 along with Stitcher Express and its new product, VTour, on the Digit'Access booth at this week’s Multimédia Photo Image Show, from March 16-20 at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center in Paris. Realviz Stitcher is a application for the creation of wide-angle panoramas for the Web, film, print, and 3D. This release of the software includes a number of new features, including: sensor shift, to automatically correct the misalignment of the sensor with the center of the lens; external blending, which improves the rendering of parallax and reduces misalignment errors; movie export, which allows users to define as many key positions as required in their scene to represent the camera viewpoints; and batch render, to render multiple projects successively in batch mode. The release accompanies the launch of a new website dedicated to the Realviz stitching products, and a selection of other equipment and resources related to photography and panorama creation. The site is the new official home of Stitcher & Stitcher Express, as well as the Stitcher User Gallery and Showcase sections. The site also offers a selection of books and other photography-related products for sale. An open marketplace for the sale of panoramic photography is also scheduled for late 2006.
