Streaming media company RealNetworks has purchased the mobile gaming group Mr.Goodliving for a reported $15 million. The Finnish company is expected to open up new business ventures for Real, which currently develops casual downloadable games for the PC. Mr.Goodliving's corporate reach is expected to extend into the U.S. and Asia as a result of this agreement.
The games currently offered by Mr.Goodliving include a sports series entitled
Playman, and a mobile version of the Trivial Pursuit board game. Mr.Goodliving titles are available over several carrier networks. The company will continue to operate independently as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Real, and no employee movement is expected.
