The "Question Of The Week" feature, a specific industry-related question to be answered by professional game developers and Gamasutra readers, discusses video game award shows, and what it would take to make the 'perfect' award show for game creators. The new question, which can be answered at the official Question Of The Week page until March 6, is: "Will there ever be an 'Oscar ceremony' for the game industry, or is this a fallacious comparison, given the differences between the film and game biz? What's the perfect formula for the ideal video game award show in terms of voting, ceremony location, style, presenters, and scope?" As with the previous questions, the best responses will be compiled into an article to be published on the site, and users can either respond publically, with their name and company specifically cited, or anonymize their answers if they wish. [Gamasutra is part of the CMP Game Group, organizers of the Game Developers Conference, which includes the Game Developers Choice Awards, but our editorial wing is separate from the Awards. It other words, we're not looking for affirmation, just blue-sky impressions of what the best game awards show would consist of.]
