In the week following the holidays into 2011, the PSP led the Japanese charts as sales decline across nearly all platforms, reports tracking firm Media Create. For the week ended January 2, the PSP sold 108,786 units, with most units comprising of the standard PSP hardware. The PSP go saw a nearly 70 percent sales boost with 9,083 units sold, up from 5,380 units last week. The popular PSP title Monster Hunter Freedom 3 led Japanese software sales this week, and its healthy sales correlate with the PSP hardware's place on the charts. The combined versions of the Nintendo DS line sold 99,578 units and hit number two on the charts, and the DSi and DSi LL made up the majority of those sales with 48,039 and 47,798 units sold, respectively. On the individual hardware versions chart, the Nintendo Wii hit number two, with 77,307 units sold, immediately followed by the PS3 with 76,422 units sold. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended December 12, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
