Emergent has announced it will hold a free, three-day teaching and learning seminar for professors of game design this June called Emergent Academic Workshop.
The company, which makes the Gamebryo game engine, is offering the intensive workshop for professors who are currently using the engine or are thinking of incorporating it into their curriculum.
Gamebryo experts will offer training on the engine’s programming and art tools, and will roll out the first chapters of a game tutorial written for the engine. The workshops will also open discussion on how professors can best use the technology for student projects.
In the professional development world, Gamebryo is used by Disney Interactive Studios, EA Mythic, NCsoft, Firaxis Games, and Sony Online Entertainment.
The Emergent Academic Workshop is scheduled to take place June 4 through 6 in Chapel Hill, NC. For complete information about how to register for the free event, visit www.emergent.net/academicworkshop
