Character animation software developer Di-O-Matic announced the release of its latest plug-in, Voice-O-Matic 2 for 3DS Max. Voice-O-Matic 2 uses an intelligent phonetic engine that can break down audio files and automatically assign up to 40 correct phonemes to make character models speak.
Voice-O-Matic 2 automatically assigns correct phonemes to give a voice to in-game characters. In addition, audio phoneme have been added to provide an example of every phoneme to guide a developer in phoneme assignation.
Voice-O-Matic 2 can handle English, French, Italian, German and Spanish. Animators can tweak their results to their taste with standard bezier curve controls and sophisticated smoothing algorithms. In this new version, Di-O-Matic has also included weight-able phonemes so developers can accentuate a particular phonemes in order to make the lip-sync look more realistic.
Javier Rodriguez of Snowblind Studios commented: “With Voice-O-Matic, it's a breeze to achieve realistic, believable lip-synchs in record time. Quick and easy to use, yet very powerful.”
Voice-O-Matic 2 supports 3DS Max 6 to 3DS Max 8 and has been optimized for 3DS Max 8, the newest version of Autodesk's animation software.
