The creators of the PathEngine SDK,a toolkit for implementing intelligent agent movement, based on a 'points of visibility' pathfinding solution implemented over arbitrary 3D ground meshes, have announced the release of V5.03. Key features in this new version include significant performance improvements, as well as the addition of support for the x64 architecture. The memory cost for loading and fully preprocessing meshes with large number of detail obstructions is down by just under a third in this release. In addition, the number of allocations made by the SDK during mesh loading has also been significantly reduced. Also, many meshes now load in approximately half the time taken with release 5.02. PathEngine has also added to its list of clients by signing both NTL Incorporated and People Can Fly (Painkiller). These are in addition to other recent clients such as Dimps, Sonokong, and Webzen, and others, a full list of which is available online. For more information about the SDK, including demos and documentation, or to request a commercial evaluation visit the company website.
