Voice communication services provider Vivox has announced an agreement with MMO development studio Monumental Games to include the Vivox Precision Studio in Monumental's MMO middleware software development solution. The partnership will bring Vivox's Precision Studio into the Monumental Technology Suite, and allow players to communicate both in groups or one-on-one in a fully integrated application within the game. The software makes available multiple options through APIs that assure that voice “can be deployed in ways that best match the game world, strategy, and style of play.” The Vivox voice chat is facilitated through the pre-existing Vivox Network, leaving game servers and CPU resources untouched by the chat. Vivox's voice solutions have already been employed by developers of large scale MMOs And virtual worlds, including within CCP Games' EVE Online And Linden Lab's online community Second Life. “Voice communications is no longer an accessory for multi-player games,” said Rob Seaver, CEO of Vivox. “Players expect the highest quality integrated communications. This partnership enables Monumental Games to deliver the feature-rich communications services required in today’s market with the assurance that they and their customers will be supported by a team of communication experts. We are very happy to be a part of Monumental Games’ ongoing commitment to providing the best possible solutions to their customers.”
