Nvidia has been approved as a third-party tools provider for Nintendo's Wii, making its PhysX technology SDK available to Wii developers.
PhysX's SDK, which consists of an API and physics engine, is also available on Xbox 360 and PC, and Nvidia recently announced it would offer the binary version of the SDK free to PS3 developers.
Companies including Electronic Arts and 2K license PhysX, and the middleware was recently used in EA DICE's Mirror's Edge
"Nintendo has reshaped the home entertainment and video game market with the success of the Wii console," says Nvidia Content and technology senior VP Tony Tamasi. "Adding a PhysX SDK for Wii is key to our cross-platform strategy and integral to the business model for our licensed game developers and publishers."
