Electronic Arts has announced what video game titles it will feature during E3 next week, including games shown both on and off the show floor, and that its presence will be complimented by video game releases for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PC, and mobile phones. In addition to the recently announced Army of Two in development at EA Montréal, EA will also showcase Will Wright's original PC strategy title Spore, as well as the latest iteration in the long running Command & Conquer franchise, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. All three of these game will be shown off the show floor behind closed doors. Also shown behind closed doors in an area being called the 'EA Sports Lab' will be the company's '07 sports lineup. Here EA's annual EA Sports titles will be featured, including Madden NFL 07, which will be playable on the Nintendo Wii, as well as the PS3, Xbox 360, PSP, and Nintendo DS. Other titles to be shown include Battlefield 2142, which takes the PC team-based FPS into the future for the first time; Crysis, the latest PC FPS from Crytek, the developers of Far Cry; The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II for the Xbox 360; and NASCAR 07 and Def Jam Fight For NY: The Takeover, both for the PSP. EA will also have Superman: Returns on display, although the company confirmed yesterday during a conference call that the adaptation of the upcoming feature film has slipped past the theatrical release of the movie, and will now ship in the fall, concurrent with the release of the film on DVD. "E3 is a showcase for EA's portfolio of globally recognized entertainment," said Executive Vice President and General Manager of International Publishing, Gerhard Florin. "Titles like FIFA Football, Lord of the Rings: The Battle For Middle-earth II and the Battlefield franchise are among the most popular games in the world."
