Kohnke Communications has announced that it will be holding a one-day PR For Games conference at the Fairmont hotel in San Francisco on November 3rd. According to the company, "the program is targeted at interactive entertainment PR and marketing professionals, and attendees will walk away with practical information that will help make future campaigns a success." The morning keynote speaker will be Doug Lowenstein, president of trade body the ESA, and Joe DiNunzio, president of 42 Entertainment - the creator of the “ilovebees” alternate reality game ad campaign for Halo 2 - will be giving the afternoon keynote, presenting a case study on the campaign, and discussing broader issues related to alternative PR and marketing efforts. In addition, the preliminary speaker list includes representatives from Game Informer, Konami, Spike TV, Sega, San Jose Mercury News, Midway, Koei, Computer Gaming World, Vivendi-Universal, GameSpot, and more, and panel topics include Broadcast PR; Beyond the “Review Haiku” – Securing Expanded Mainstream Coverage; PR Past the Cover; Giving Good Demos; Marketing PR to the Company, a special Editors-in-Chief discussion, among others.
