Playstation 2 to Remain at $299 for the Year while Production Increases

Kazuo Hirai, chief operating officer of Sony Entertainment of America, reiterated that Sony has no plans to cut the price of the Playstation 2 console this year as it increases production volume for the coming holiday season.

Sony is projecting to sell 10 million units in North America by March 31, the end of the company’s fiscal year. Sony will increase its monthly PS2 production to 2 million units from the current 1.8 million units.
