PathEngine, a commercial pathfinding solution for video games, has released version 4.59 of its utility, which provides a point of visibility pathfinding solution with support for pathfinding through overlapping geometry layers and advanced dynamic obstacle management. PathEngine's clients include Flying Lab Software's Pirates of the Burning Sea, IronLore Entertainment's Titan Quest, and other companies including NCSoft and Nexon Entertainment. Release 4.59 of PathEngine includes big improvements in preprocess memory footprint and performance improvements across the board, as well as support for collision queries without shape-specific preprocess, for limiting query scope and for query interruption. The benchmark page has been updated for this release. More information about PathEngine can be found at the official PathEngine website.
