PathEngine has announced the latest release of its pathfinding and agent movement SDK, adding significant performance improvements and speedups, and new licensees, including Korea-based Flyff developer Aeonsoft. The latest edition of the PathEngine SDK includes an increase in pathfinding preprocess generation speed of 20 percent, while the company says that the speed of collision preprocess generation and run-time pathfinding queries has increased by 15 percent. The company also says that speed and scaling when loading meshes without mapping to 2D is improved, with speed increases of 50 percent occurring in cases involving "significant amounts" of internal detail. Scaling of content processing times with respect to scene complexity has also been upgraded. PathEngine also announced licensing to Aeonsoft and to Deck13 Interactive, noting it was also chosen as the winner in the middleware category of Game Developer Magazine's annual Front Line Awards. The PathEngine SDK features in IMG Games' MMORPG Granado Espada, Dimps' Mobile Suit Gundam: Operation Troy, Ironlore Entertainment's Titan Quest, and Flying Lab's Pirates of the Burning Sea.
