Orlando Science Center, Full Sail Give Game Dev Workshops

As part of a video game convention called Otronicon at the Orlando Science Center, instructors from Full Sail Real World Education will be teaching game development
Full Sail Real World Education, the game development institute in Winter Park, Fla., and the Orlando Science Center have come together to present a multifaceted video game convention, combining play, technology, and education about game development. The convention, called Otronicon and now in its third year, features an array of playable games and simulation, including a set up of Halo 3 projected onto the Orlando Science Center Cinedome. On the education end, Full Sail instructors will be teaching workshops on game design, game development, and asset production. Erik Noteboom, director of education for digital arts at Full Sail, says school’s participation in Otronicon helps share knowledge about game development with the gaming public. “Through the workshops, we are able to showcase all of the aspects of gaming and various jobs available through this business,” Noteboom commented in a press release. “This is an opportunity for students and parents to learn of the career possibilities within the gaming industry, and it creates an increase in national attention for gaming while creating a stronger digital media element for Central Florida,” he added.
