Non-profit publisher OneBigGame formally announced its next release aimed at raising money for charities, WINtA
, an iPhone/iPod Touch rhythm game from PaRappa the Rapper creator Masaya Matsuura.
Co-developed by Matsuura's studio NanaOn-Sha and Dutch developer Triangle Studios, WINtA
, short for "War Is Not The Answer" (a line taken from Marvin Gaye's hit song "What's Going On"), has players tapping on-screen markers along with music and words.
Matsuura hasn't revealed what songs will appear on WINtA
other than the Marvin Gaye track he's used in the game's public demonstrations, but he says he would like the title to serve as a platform for graphical artists and musicians to add their own content to.
As with its first published title Chime
, Zoe Mode's puzzle/music game released on Xbox Live Arcade last February, OneBigGame will donate a minimum of 80 percent of its sales from WINtA
to its charity partners Save the Children
and Starlight Children’s Foundation
"I am a big believer in creative collaborations and I am really pleased with the result that is WINtA
,” says NanaOn-Sha president Masaya Matsuura. "Furthermore, further down the line WINtA
will also very much involve music artists, VJs and gamers around the world in this project. I can’t wait to see the creative vision that we have for WINtA
finally become a reality later this year."
