Developer Nurien has announced a "next-generation social networking" platform using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3 game engine that will allow users to interact, network, and play games with their personalized 3D avatars. With Unreal Engine 3's advanced toolset, the avatars can move realistically and appear more lifelike. The 3D social networking service will include casual games like MStar, Runway, and Quizstar. MStar mixes user-created content, customizable characters, and virtual dancing into a rhythm dance game. Runway will have players taking on the roles of designers and runway models in a fashion show application. QuizStar allows gamers to participate in an online trivia game. “We wanted to create a social virtual world – sort of like a 3D MySpace – where users can create, collect, combine and share legacy media such as music, photos, video as well as 3D objects such as clothing, furniture, pets, cars and more, all in a beautiful 3D environment,” said Taehoon Kim, co-founder of Nurien Software.
