Representatives from the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) have claimed that the number of “Mature” rated video games fell to 11.9% of the market in 2003, from 13.2% in 2002.
Citing NPD Group data the ESA statement also pointed out that only one of the top ten best-selling console titles of last year carried a Mature rating: the infamous
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Revenue from Mature rated games also fell to $833 million, compared to $910.8 million in 2002.
