Buried deep within Nokia's sales reports for the fourth quarter of 2004 (October-December), the company has released some information on the performance of the N-Gage, its mobile gaming-focused handset. According to the report, Nokia has sold 1.3 million of the systems since its launch in October of 2003 -- the company refers to these sales as "cumulative," which likely refers to sales of both the original N-Gage and the remodeled N-Gage QD in all territories where the system has been released so far. Nokia also mentioned several N-Gage games that have been performing comparatively well for the system, such as Pathway to Glory, a military FPS; Pocket Kingdom, a massively multiplayer strategy game; and Colin McRae Rally, a rally-car racing sim. The next phenomenon in the N-Gage world may well be Nokia's new release of Snakes 3D, a polygonal update of the most common mobile phone game in existence. Players who download Snakes 3D from Nokia's website onto their N-Gage units will be able to transfer the game to other N-Gages via the system's Bluetooth networking. However, since Snakes 3D is a free download, it's unlikely to show up in the company's next financial report.
