Representatives from Russian-founded developer Nival Interactive have announced that the company has acquired a controlling interest in fellow Russian developer Targem Games.
Already the largest developer in Russia, Nival are currently in the process of closing
a merger with U.S. based Ener1 Group, which has previously specialized in areas such as lithium batteries, fuel cells, and nanotechnology materials.
With the merger in progress, Nival's corporate offices are now located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and its main creative studio in Moscow. Targem are based in Ekaterinburg, in West Central Russia and have produced a number of titles for the PC, Pocket PC and mobile platforms, including the Battle Mages
The deal is cited as part of Nival’s strategy to create a global video game development company that will produce next generation console and wireless games as well as maintaining its current expertise in the PC game market.

By combining Targem’s talented team with ours, we can more aggressively pursue our goal of producing next generation console titles, while continuing to produce world-class PC games," said Sergey Orlovskiy, president of Nival.
Stanislav Skorb, president of Targem Games, added, "This is an exciting opportunity for Targem and one that will enable the team to implement more of our creative ideas, while leveraging the resources and expertise of Nival. We have terrific creative synergy and are excited about working on more projects together."
