Nintendo has announced that, in addition to the black, white and pink DS Lites already available, it will offer a silver DS to the European market starting on October 12, 2007 for an estimated retail price of £99 ($200).
The company, which
recently announced a crimson DS bundle with
Brain Age 2 exclusively for the North American market, has sold over 14 million DS Lite units to date in Europe, according to an official statement.
Nintendo also says that strong sales of the hardware are continuing alongside surging sales performance from recently launched DS games like
Pokémon Diamond and
Pokémon Pearl, which have sold 1.6 million copies combined in the 7 weeks since their European launch.

More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain? (the title known as
Brain Age 2 in North America), has sold 915,000 units in the 11 weeks since its launch, and the original
Brain Training title has now sold an impressive 3.3 million copies in European territories.
Nintendo hopes to continue the momentum for the DS with upcoming new releases, including
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass which launches across Europe on 19th October 2007.
