Nintendo has announced that, since its launch on October 7th in Europe, over 1 million copies of Nintendogs
for its DS handheld have been sold, continuing extremely impressive worldwide sales figures for the 'puppy simulator', which ships in multiple variant versions.
The U.S. versions of Nintendogs
also swiftly racked up
impressive sales, shipping a quarter of a million units in its first week of American availability, and continuing to sell well throughout the run up to the holiday season.
For Europe, Nintendo revealed that sales of the DS have exceeded 100,000 units per week for the last three weeks, and last week, sales topped 120,000 across Europe, another impressive figure, bolstered by the recent price drop
to €129.99 ($157) in continental Europe and £89.99 ($160) in the UK, and the launch of hardware bundles based both around Nintendogs
and the newly released Mario Kart DS
