The company said that the Japanese launch of the GameCube will now occur on September 14, nearly two months later than the originally scheduled July launch. The company still plans to launch the console in North America in mid-November and in Europe next Spring.
As a Nintendo spokeperson explained, "We want to have enough numbers and high-quality game software at the time of launch and development of such titles takes time. This delay is not due to hardware development."
GameCube pricing and an announcement about launch titles is expected to occur at E3 next month.
